For this project, we were supposed to identify a problem in the world and create a presentation of a way or ways to solve this problem. We independently choose our own problem and using that, we got into groups with people with similar problems. In my group, there was Aditya Katewa, Sebastian Dow, and Tyler Colenbrander. The problem that we all chose was air pollution. Together, we brainstormed, researched, and came up with a solution to the problem and made a presentation. Our solution to air pollution was a maglev train, or magnetic levitation train. We would use maglev trains everywhere in place of cars. Cars are one of the leading air polluters. We made a slideshow on the impact of the maglev idea and the problem s that it would fix. We also made a model of how the maglevs work using magnets and we 3d printed what a maglev looks like.
MAGLEV TRAIN- A maglev is a train that is powered by magnets. There are two sides of a magnet. Positive side and negative side. A positive side and a negative side are attracted to each other, pulling them together. But, two negative sides or two positive sides push apart. A maglev train levitates off the rails, which are magnets using the two positive or two negative sides. One set of magnets is on the train, the other is on the ground. Using the repelling of magnets, the train is pushed forward.

Reflections: Our project was a success and everything went pretty well. I learned a lot of important things about pollution and what the causes and effects of it are. I also learned about how badly a solution needed to be formed. Our group worked well. We were very fast and efficient and hard- working. Along with our presentation, we had a couple of full pages of notes and ideas. I was one of the individuals in our group who thought of the idea. I wanted to use some sort of energy efficient train idea to get harmful cars off the streets. I imagined a rollercoaster system everywhere without the crazy hills and turns and such. I had never heard of a maglev until someone in my group mentioned it and it was the perfect idea. Maglevs give off hardly any if any pollution. Along with the presentation, we made a 3D model of a maglev using a computer program and a 3D printer.
Peak: Our group worked well together and we all worked on different parts of the project and did a great job. We had a lot of different models to represent how the Maglev works and our slideshow was well put together.
Peak: Our slideshow had a lot of important information in it. This was due to the amount of research and notes that we put together before starting the slideshow.
Pit: One thing that didn't go well was that I got a little behind in it when we transitioned from the notes to the presentation. I just wasn't sure what to do and unfortunately wasn't paying attention at a bad time. But, I caught up and contributed a good amount. Overall, the project went great and we worked well.
Pit: As I said earlier, the notes worked great, but we may have spent a little too much time on them as we didn't use all of the notes that we took. We could've been more efficient, but it didn't really matter.
